Winter flowers
Hello there!
I really love trying new things every day. It keeps me fresh and motivated, and with that sense of discovery that we all had we were kids. It’s healthy to treat ourselves with curiosity and find those shapes and colors that trigger our minds and warm our souls.
Weekend is almost here, and snow is in the mountains. So why am I talking about a flowers today? Well, first of all because I love them year round! And secondly, because I want to show you this special hand printed stamp collage, which I’ve named “Flowers in a pot”.
The making of this print was a discovery itself, since I knew I wanted to depict flowers, but wasn’t sure how to do it with hand carved stamps, AND I didn’t have the stamps already in my hand carved collection that matched my ideas… so I made them from scratch!
On the other hand, I had watched a lesson or two on Skillshare about masking some prints in order to create patterns and shapes, and that’s how I did the pot. You can watch the lesson here
By then, with ideas, tools and materials at hand, I was ready to jump into action. And, I had the perfect excuse, too: a house-warming gift that I wanted to make for my friends. So excited!
My friend loved it and this is how she displays it in her very colorful living room. Do you like it too?
I added the “Happy Home” quote to customize it a little bit more and the birdie is also a funny addition.
I hope this inspires you to create your own gifts and prints, or you can get this same one or customize it with your own word or quote, at My Stamped World’s Etsy shop
Have fun!
Love,
Mery
